Our Mission
Rooted2Serve exists to serve our neighbors with compassion, dignity, and the love of Christ. Our mission is to bring people together to meet real needs in our community through essential home repairs, volunteer service, practical assistance, and acts of kindness.
Guided by Mark 10:45 — “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…” — we believe that when a community comes together to serve, lives are changed, homes are restored, and hope takes root.
What We Do
Rooted2Serve connects people in need with volunteers, donors, businesses, churches, and community partners who are ready to help. From repairing a roof or improving a home to organizing community projects, providing needed resources, and simply showing up when a neighbor needs support, we work to turn compassion into action.
We don’t just complete projects. We build relationships, restore hope, and strengthen our community—one neighbor at a time.

About us
Serving others has always been close to my heart.
I’ve worked at Sonic for what feels like a lifetime, and over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to help with countless fundraisers for our community—cheerleading, football, baseball, basketball, archery, schools, families, and more. We’ve held car washes, helped raise money, donated more slushes than I could ever count, and tried to support our community whenever we could.
Helping people has always been something that brings me joy. But deep down, I felt like there was something more God was calling me to do. I just didn’t know what it was yet.
Then Jesus got ahold of my heart.
God also surrounded me with some amazing, Godly women, including Samantha Young and Samantha Wagoner. What started simply—with a Bible study gathered around my kitchen table—became the beginning of something none of us could have imagined.
We prayed together. We studied God’s Word together. We grew in our faith together. And before long, that faith began moving us beyond the kitchen table and out into our community.
Then God put Miss Sheila in our path.
We came together to help her, and through that experience, something clicked. We realized we could take the same heart for service that had brought us together and use it to help even more people.
That little Bible study around my kitchen table planted the roots for what would become Rooted2Serve.
We decided to take a leap of faith and start a nonprofit built around serving others, bringing our community together, and showing the love of Jesus not only through our words, but through our actions.
Today, I find myself constantly wondering, What’s next? Who will God put in our path? What does He have in store for Rooted2Serve?
I don’t know all of those answers yet, but I believe with all my heart that God will make a way for us to serve.
We’re still regular women with jobs, families, responsibilities, and busy lives. We’ll still be working our jobs and handling everyday life—but when there is an opportunity to serve, we want to be there.
We will fundraise. We will gather volunteers. We will get our hands dirty. We will pray. And we will do everything we can to help our neighbors when they need it most.
No task is too small to matter, and no need is too big to bring before God.
And to think—it all started with a few women, an open Bible, and a kitchen table.
